Helping families surf safely on the Internet

Privacy Policy

As of November 2001, the Doug the Slug kids site and the corresponding Grownups site do not surreptitiously collect any information about visitors or set any browser cookies. We believe that collecting information surreptitiously would be disastrous for our website, as doing so would fundamentally violate the trust of our visitors and our responsibility to them.

We will not collect personal information via the kids site at all. Yes, we may eventually implement survey activities that collect demographic information about our players and how they use the kids site. But when we do so, we will not ask for a name or other personal information for the player. That is, we will protect the anonymity of the person participating in a survey on the kids site.

If you send us E-mail or submit forms to us from the Grownups site, though, we might collect information such as your name and your E-mail address. In some cases, we may pass that information on to others if we judge that the information is likely to be used responsibly. If you contribute material that we eventually use on our site, we will gratefully give you credit, but we will mention only your City, State/Province or country information unless you give us explicit written permission to publish your name.

We do reserve the right to change this policy in the future, as we cannot anticipate all developments that might affect how we operate our web sites. Please check the Privacy Policy regularly for changes. Any changes in policy will not apply to communications sent before the changes were published.

Please contact us if you have comments or suggestions for improving this policy.
